chairs are done

  • Feb. 9th, 2009 at 11:47 PM

I am so glad that the chairs are totally complete. I had to take them back apart and redo them. Not because they had to but because I was displeased with the results. I know that I could do so much better. Well...I did...I think they look better that before. Take a look and see.

Happy Birthday wishes

Thanks to younz out there.
My birthday is the 23rd and being early is alway better than late. Unless it's a harem of women that show up at the door. Then I don't care.

Be glad when all done

  • Sep. 23rd, 2008 at 6:51 AM

Archers is almost here. I'll be glad when all the hype is done. I need to go out and shoot something. I want spend my time with friends ...joke
and act crazy. I think once the event kicks off we'll be fine its just getting to that point. I have been fielding calls and such from all over the kingdom on this and I hope we can live up to expectations. OK enough...I can't see exposing all to my rants. I guess the steam is gone.Oh since I don't type fast the steam dissapates before I get to type it all. So rants are short and sweet.

Bed Update

  • Jul. 11th, 2008 at 7:16 AM

My that bed will be gorgeous, all should stop by and see it. The post are finished and the head and foot supports are done. I have a beautiful piece that I'll use for the head board. I'll really enjoy when I can lay down on it and try it out.

Life Update

  • Jul. 6th, 2008 at 11:35 PM

Long weekend of work, sure would be nice to have a vacation. Oh yeah, Pennsic, ...love it but it's no vacation. well I know the work is well worth it. The beds are going to be nice, Benches are in the que, and there are several other smaller things that hopefully will get done.
Should have seen the two wheelbarrels of saw dust I dumped into the woods. God I wish I could reclaim that into some more lumber. Oh, some have said I should use more period tools...so I made a mallet out of the ash that is left over. Now I have a hammer to pound the heck out of the folks who critize. I so would like to know how all those folks get their projects done using only period stuff. I'm kinda sick of that train of thought. Yes, I've studied the methods, and know the tools. I've even taken some of my modern tools apart to use them a period craftsmen would have. Any who. Wood is flying and projects are coming together.

Tomorrow is the Start of Pennsic Projects

  • Jun. 20th, 2008 at 6:52 AM

Well I guess the wood shop goes into full production tomorrow. It will be raining outside but the dust will fly inside. I've got beds to make, scribal desks, benches and other small odds & ends. I need to travel to the North Pole and pick out some of those elves. Maybe some cute little redheaded ones or some dark haired ones...no wait the won't help that'll hinder me...what was I thinking? Ok back on track. Oh yeah, make kitchen counters for the camp kitchen. Wow, it's hard to believe how much time I'll be spending with my tools.  Oh another project a Viking Chest for another friend. Ok stand back folks and keep the saw dust at bay.
Am I missing anything? I know there will be those that are squeezed in to. This is where I excel load it up and pump it out.

Happy Fathers Day

  • Jun. 15th, 2008 at 12:02 PM

To all the Daddies out there...Happy Fathers Day!!
So far my experiences with being a dad have been rewarding. Although there have been many challenges along the way, I do enjoy the way my childern have and are becoming responsible young adults. I have cried many tears in joy and sorrow, I have wondered where I went wrong and now I look back and see that none of the books or hours of talks could really prepare me for the task. But somehow I've made it through. I do know the never will my job as Father will ever be done until they lay me to rest. As I believe, even then I'll still be watching over my Marcus, Aaron and Brianna. I love you kids with every breath I take. My life is yours and I would willingly give it to ensure your happiness.

I give my respects to all fathers, mine and my Dawn's who has passed.  And to all who I know, know that you are your children's teacher and the future of our country.

Happy Fathers Day
